Terms of service - Tutoring

Effective Date: March 11, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Bridge Educational Consulting. By inquiring about or scheduling tutoring services, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the following Terms of Service. These terms outline general policies for tutoring services. A separate tutoring agreement outlining the specific schedule, payment terms, and program details must be reviewed and signed prior to the start of services.

2. Services

Bridge Educational Consulting provides individualized tutoring designed to support academic development and strengthen foundational learning skills.

Tutoring may focus on areas including:

  • Reading intervention (Orton-Gillingham / structured literacy)

  • Math foundations

  • Written expression and mechanics

Tutoring is offered in structured terms with reserved weekly time slots. Sessions are typically 45 minutes in length and may occur once or twice per week depending on student needs and availability.

Services may be provided at:

  • A designated public library location (morning sessions), or

  • The client’s home (limited afternoon availability)

All services begin only after a consultation has been completed and a tutoring agreement has been signed.

3. Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate information regarding the student’s academic needs and learning background

  • Share relevant educational documents when appropriate (e.g., IEPs or evaluation reports)

  • Ensure the student arrives prepared and on time for each tutoring session

  • Maintain open communication regarding scheduling or concerns

  • Provide a safe and appropriate learning environment for in-home sessions

Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in suspension or termination of services.

4. Fees and Payments

Tutoring sessions are billed according to the rate outlined in the tutoring agreement.

Enrollment in a tutoring term requires a signed agreement and advance payment according to the payment schedule provided. Session times are reserved specifically for the student and are confirmed only after payment is received.

Additional fees may apply for:

  • In-home tutoring travel

  • Optional add-on services

  • Missed sessions or late cancellations as outlined in the tutoring agreement

Full payment policies are detailed in the tutoring contract.

5. Attendance and Scheduling

Consistent attendance is important for student progress.

Clients must provide at least 24 hours’ notice if a session must be missed. Due to limited scheduling capacity, makeup sessions cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability. Sessions cancelled without proper notice may be forfeited.

Specific attendance policies are outlined in the tutoring agreement.

6. Illness Policy

Clients should notify the provider if the student is ill and unable to attend a scheduled session.

Students experiencing fever, vomiting, contagious illness, or symptoms that significantly impact their ability to participate productively should not attend in-person sessions. This includes symptoms that cannot reasonably be reduced or managed with standard over-the-counter medications.

Illness-related absences are handled according to the attendance policy described in the tutoring agreement.

7. Confidentiality

Bridge Educational Consulting maintains strict confidentiality regarding student information. Educational documents, notes, and communications are treated as confidential and will not be shared with outside parties without written consent, except when required by law.

8. Limitation of Liability

While Bridge Educational Consulting utilizes professional and research-based instructional methods, specific academic outcomes cannot be guaranteed. To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability for any claim related to tutoring services is limited to the amount paid for those services.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state of Texas.
